The story of Ruth is an amazing one full of ups and downs, but the outcome for Ruth is simply unimaginable. Here you have this foreign woman who marries into a foreign family. Her husband dies and then she leaves her home to go back with with Naomi to God only knows what, and yet against all odds, this woman becomes part of something she could never have imagined, the blood line of King David and King Jesus.
This reminds me of Romans 8:28 where is says that God works all things together for the good of those who love Him and are called according to His purpose. It is not always clear how things will work out, but we can know that what ever is going on, God is in control, and has plans to work things out in such a way that if we are faithful, we will receive such a blessing we can not even begin to imagine.
How good is God!
